Let’s keep the heat up on Sessions!

Please log your call here: and let us know what our MoCs had to say.

Our current Attorney General has had repeated dealings with the Russian government—despite his denials—since before Trump ever took office. He may have just recused himself from Justice Department investigations into Russian influence, but the matter is still far from settled. Let’s make sure our Members of Congress know that mere calls for “clarity” or “disclosure” just won’t do—Sessions must resign.
Action #1Press Cantwell for a more robust response to Sessions

Unlike the other Members of Congress for our area, Senator Cantwell has not come out with a strong, unambiguous statement calling for Jeff Sessions to resign. We want to make it very clear to her office that we want her to go further in condemning the AG.

Senator Maria Cantwell:

“Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I’m calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I’m reaching out because I have not seen Senator Cantwell openly call for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. His contact with the Russian government during the Trump campaign is totally unacceptable. Senator Cantwell should take news of his perjury before Congress and make a strong statement like those of Senators Patty Murray and Elizabeth Warren and call for Sessions to resign.”

Action #2Thank some Members of Congress for their calls for a Sessions resignation!

Patty Murray, Adam Smith, and Pramila Jayapal have all done us proud with explicit calls for Jeff Sessions to resign. We want to thank them for their commitment to rolling back foreign influence on our government and putting a stop to an AG who should never have been confirmed.

Senator Patty Murray:

Rep. Pramila Jayapal:

Rep. Adam Smith:

“Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I’m calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I’m calling because I’d like to thank {Name of MoC} for making a public call for Jeff Sessions to resign. I’m deeply troubled by Sessions’ repeated dealings with the Russian government, and his apparent perjury before Congress is certainly the last straw.

Can you tell me what other steps {the MoC} will be taking to ensure Sessions’ resignation? I think this deserves much more attention in the press, and I would appreciate {the MoC} making some media appearances to discuss the facts.”_____

Action #3—Block time for our Tuesday protest!

The final ask this week is to vote with your feet and make your way to our weekly protest of Trump’s administration in front of the Federal Building downtown. As with past weeks, we’ll be meeting up Tuesday (March 7th) at 11am at 915 2nd Ave. in Seattle. View the Resist Trump Tuesday event details.

We’d love to see some new faces as this group expands, and we’re always eager to have more speakers talk about why they choose to resist.
