|Dear Group Leaders,
So much is at stake this year. And as the 2018 primaries elections move closer and general election stands just 168 days away, we know there’s so much your groups want to — no, have to — get done if you’re going to take back your districts, cities and this country from Trump cronyism.
We’ve heard your concerns and we’re prepared to make sure that your groups are as equipped as they possibly can be to have an impact in this election. You’ve heard from us about our endorsement program, the electoral tools your groups will be able to employe, and the strategic and tactical resources available.
Now, we want your groups to come together and share what’s been working in your states. And our staff will be there to help you break through the roadblocks you’re facing, build stronger statewide coalitions, and hone in on some growing your organizing skills.
Here’s what’s happening in your region in 2018:
- Idaho Veterans Indivisible locally-endorsed Paulette Jordan (and nominated her for a national endorsement!) and helped her snag the Democratic nomination, placing her one step closer to becoming the first Indigenous governor in US history.
- Seattle Indivisible has hosted #ResistTrumpTuesdays since January 2017! That’s e-v-e-r-y Tuesday for the last year and a half.
- Oregon Indivisibles protected Oregon’s Medicaid expansion during a special election in January by participating in 185 text & phone bank shifts, 313 canvassing shifts, and knocking on 12,520 doors.
These certainly aren’t the only successes we’ve seen, and sharing every example — group leader to group leader — is our best hope and replicating them. We need your group represented at this institute and ready to help take our movement up a notch.
There’s so much to do. Trust us, we get it! But this institute will be the perfect opportunity for group leaders to slow down, double down and get down to the basics of what will allow us to win this year.
Having trouble with retention? We’ve got you covered with extensive discussion on best practices groups from all over the country are using to tackle this issue. Unsure if your group could survive without you handling running meetings, coordinating actions, making confirmation calls for meeting? You’re not alone and we’ve got some tried and true workshops on how to grow your groups leadership.
